The New York Pops - American Strings: From Folk to Film

The New York Pops string section is featured in this American program of folk songs, fiddle tunes, novelty pieces, and film scores conducted by Steven Reineke. Program selections include Aaron Copland’s “Hoe-Down” from Rodeo, George Gershwin’s Lullaby, Scott Joplin’s The Entertainer, arranged by Steven Reineke, and John Williams’ “March of the Resistance” from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This performance was recorded live at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music in May 2021.

As a thank you for your incredible support this past year, we are pleased to dedicate to you this free virtual concert. We are so very grateful for our New York Pops family; this recording would not be possible without you. Until we see you at Carnegie Hall, we hope this will bring you joy!
